- (snazzysoftware) Add support for the new Starlight Xpress SXVR camera range. Starlight Xpress software reports SXVR-H9 as (SXVIO=272, OS=5.1, PID=0119). Would happily provide more info and test beta-version.

  1. (dherndonnc) preconfigured exposure settings you can select from a drop down. Nameable so you can jump between frame/focus/preview/capture/fine by just selecting the settings group you predefined. ditto on more progress bars for everything, and values displayed for all sliders.
  2. Planetary stacking routine
  3. Add ability for external script to control imaging, etc. within Nebulosity for use with VB scripts or programs such as ACP [OK, as discussed, to check the clipboard or even a file for commands when in script-run mode – in progress]
  4. (Craig) Window that will show the processing history and allow you to save this. (At some point to let you play this back, but keeping track of the processing is most important
  5. (Craig) Curves tool
    1. you might allow curves to be pre-set with some convenient function (log, power, etc); these can make a good starting point from which to start tweaking
  6. - be able see focus numbers in very large format. expose the shot, then click focus and then adjust your focus at the scope when you are five feet away from you computer.
  7. Add access to ASCOM supported focusers and mounts from Nebulosity to assist frame and focusing.
  8. (Jeff) Add progress bars during batch functions and aligning
  9. (Dale) If multiple Canon cameras exist, let you select which to connect to
  10. Ability to auto dark-subtract (or store and reuse dark-frame) with SBIG cameras (Use internal filter control for capturing dark vs. light frames.)
  11. (Brad) Add and save camera type in preferences and only have a connect button on main screen
  12. (JonD) Integration with FocusMax would be nice (if that’s possible)
  13. (JonD) nudge/centre here capabilities similar to MaximDL
  14. Ability to pass images from second CCD in dual ccd camera out to phdguide.
  15. (dherndonnc) Progress bars, overall and exposure, optionally displayed (and large so you can see from distance). Some customizable audio tones as well so you can take a nap and hear when you’re “x percent done” :-). The data is there in the status bar, so adding progress bars should be easy?
  16. (Brad) Ability to select USB device 1 for qhy8 so I can guide and image from same PC. It currently only looks at device 0.
  17. (rcole_sooner) Have slider bars provide slider values as the slider is being changed.
  18. (rcole_sooner) The ability to save the locations of dark, flat, and bias files.
  19. Nikon DSLR support (like on DSLR shutter-IR serial port cable)Please!!
  20. (Jeff) Richardson-Lucy deconvolution
  21. (Jeff) Automatic pre-processing routine, possibly as a script? Select lights, optional darks, optional flats, & optional biases and press start. Could be integrated with a capture routine (”now capturing lights/darks”) that sends images to an appropriate sub-directory based on imaging session. Would automatically clean up intermediate files saved (pproc*, recon*, etc.) Ref. Adobe Photoshop Actions as inspiration.
  22. (Jerry) A means of controling which folders are used as the defaults for each processing session.
  23. (Brad) gradient removal tool, enhanced histogram display (real-time feedback), more conventional levels and curves utilies, clone tool for fixing defects, support for PS plug-ins
  24. cropping by the numbers (Image→Crop, submenu) needs to actually work, or:
  25. cropping region by dragging a box with the mouse needs to be modifiable with keys, or:
  26. need ability to align/stack a collection of color images, rather than doing them separately (a huge help), or:
  27. provide method to do (L)RGB Synthesis with images of slightly different sizes, selecting alignment reference points
  28. display histogram limits
  29. automatic dark frame captures over a range of exposures
  30. undo needs to be implemented
  31. (Jerry P) Add Pentax DSLR as a camera selection in the devices accepted
  32. (bhorrock) Add option to use .fits and .fts extensions for compatibility with other programs (Pixelmator, OSX)
  33. (phomer) Add support for the latest QSI camera Firmware Release 5.2.6 to allow faster focussing - QSI 583 (OSX)
  34. (phomer) I would like to be able to define the default capture times so that I can select them.
  35. (aen) Just as the scripting feature can listen to the clipboard for commands, it would be VERY powerful if scripting could take commands from and generate responses to a SOCKET, that way users can automate whatever sort of conditional processing they want, and a lot of the features people ask for could be accomplished by small programs which drive Nebulosity over the socket interface.
  36. (microastro) Add an option to use a running average (?3) of the HFR in the Fine Focus routine to smooth out the variation due to seeing.
  37. (aen) Option to start the next exposure in a series BEFORE reconstructing the current DSLR raw image. Motivation: A small laptop can easily spend 20 to 30 seconds taking a canon raw file and converting it to raw FIT/internal format. Currently, Nebulosity finished the reconstruction, THEN starts the next exposure, introducing this delay as an unintentional time lapse. If the exposure(n+1) were started immediately after exposure(n) was downloaded, there would be the whole exposure(n+1) shutter-open time to do the exposure(n) reconstruction (overlapping the otherwise unused processing time while exposing the next frame), thus no extra delay.

Done

  1. Other combine functions than mean and adaptive mean (e.g. min/max exclude, sd-filtered) (SD combine added in 1.5.0)
  2. Allow alignment and combine of additional images during processing. If you allow proportional control over which color channel or channels are mixed from a monochrome image, you’d have all the flexibility needed for (e.g.):
    1. false-color (e.g. HST palette) emission line images (from bi-color on up)
    2. H-alpha and/or O-III enhancement of RGB images
    3. image overlays for documentary, explanatory, or pedantic purposes
    4. ability to align and combine at a later point allows for independent processing of, e.g., different exposure levels (for wide dynamic range objects like M42) (1.4.9g – LRGB tool)
  3. (Charles) Some type of preview mode. Allows you to select multiple files then remembers your zoom and slider settings while you click through each file. Used for checking data before doing any processing. Possibly even a feature to delete the bad files from hard drive on the fly as you go. (1.4.9d)
  4. Ability to do (L)RGB combines from images taken with monochrome cameras (1.4.9g)
  5. Add support for Canon CRW files from earlier Canon DSLRs (e.g. 300D) (1.4.9)
  6. Full pathname of save directory displayed (above or below local time?) — for easy confirmation of where you are saving. (Mouse-over the button now - 1.4.8)
  7. Make PDF manual available again, even if it is just a simple HTML-to-PDF conversion, for people addicted to dead-tree format
  8. Fix Bad Pixel mapping for clusters of bad pixels (1.4.7)
  9. (Eddy) Add a sound effect after each frame to assist those doing manual guiding (1.4.7)
  10. Add exposure “delay control” similar to that in DSLR Shutter. [Exists - the Time Lapse]
  11. Allow user to define a region (select with mouse) and then have interactive tools work just on this region to speed things up (1.4.5, for Levels tool - the slowest)
  12. Let all processing routines work not only on FITS but on any file (PNG, TIFF, CR2, etc). (1.4.5)
  13. Capture support for Meade DSI and DSI-II cameras (1.4.5)
  14. During capture, it would be nice to let you know how things are going even if you’re doing something else. For example, to keep the Big Status on top at all times (1.4.5 - PC only)
  15. (Charles) Allow stacking images of unequal size so that prestacked & croped images from multiple nights can be easily combined in the future. (1.4.5)
  16. (Jeff) Mac support for Hap Griffin’s serial shutter cable (Canon 350D) & 30+ sec exposures (1.4.5)
  17. (Craig / Theo) Add tools to let you rotate / mirror an image (1.4.5)
